“Cross-border classroom connections”

Five-day English teacher training “Cross-border classroom connections” for teachers of Access program and the similar U.S. government funded programs lasted from January 10 to January 14 in Budva. The training gathered 81 teachers, educators, administrators and presenters from 10 countries: the USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Estonia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Poland and Hungary.
It was realized as an initiative of the Regional English Language Office (RELO) in Belgrade, the United States Embassy in Podgorica and the United States Department of State, Office of English Language Programs at the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The training was implemented by English Language Teachers’ Association of Montenegro ELTAM as a current Access Program In-Country Educational Service Provider.
The program covered 40 hours of training. The aim of the program was to build the capacity of program administrators to plan and implement the State Department supported English language programs effectively, provide participants with new ideas for teaching U.S. culture, focus on media literacy, critical thinking, and other 21st century skills, as well as create and strengthen regional cooperation.
