The Conversation and Public Speaking Club is a free weekly event supported by the British Embassy in Podgorica. It is open to senior students and professionals in the field of education who would like to practice their communication skills in the English language, and develop their public speaking and leaderships skills in a friendly and supportive environment.
The aim of the English Conversation and Public Speaking Club is also to foster human understanding and contribution to the international integration of Montenegro.
Participants will practice English in a relaxed and informal setting while learning about international and British festivals, culture, international events and much more. Each week a different topic will be chosen with activities and games, while meetings will also include face-to-face conversations and teleconferences with foreign educators.
Participants will also practice public speaking techniques in a friendly and stimulating environment. They will learn communication skills through a series of 20 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking. Participants will learn skills related to speech organization and overall delivery, and practice giving prepared and impromptu responses to different topics. Participants will be engaged in self and peer evaluation, thereby taking ownership for developing themselves to their fullest potential.
